The 17,560 SF pre-engineered building for the North Carolina Department of Transportation consists of steel walls with brick veneer, standing seam metal roof, and an insulated glass exterior storefront. The one-story building also includes a geothermal heating and cooling system opposed to a conventional heat pump system to lower maintenance cost. The lighting system includes energy efficient fluorescent lights and ballasts as well as motion detectors. The fully sustainable design also includes a demountable wall panel and roof system throughout the entire building.
