UNC-W Congdon Hall Renovation

Public

Thomas Construction Group completed the demolition and reconstruction of the exterior terrace at UNC Wilmington’s former CIS Building, now Congdon Hall. The project delivered a modernized outdoor terrace designed to enhance the building’s functionality and visual appeal while providing durable, long-term performance.

Scope of work included new concrete foundations, steel structure, roof pavers on pedestals, membrane roofing, glass railings, GFRC column wraps, brick planters, and a new at-grade concrete patio. Additional improvements featured updated lighting, power, roof drains, fire suppression systems, landscaping, and irrigation. Interior renovations included demolition and reconstruction of two offices and the replacement of metal wall panels with wood panels at the monumental stair, creating a warm and contemporary finish within the main atrium.
