Thomas Construction Group completed the new two-story Pinehurst Elementary School for Moore County Schools, replacing the original campus that had served the community since 1940. Prior to construction, a temporary modular campus was established to accommodate K–5 students until the start of the 2021 school year.
The new 119,000-square-foot facility accommodates up to 800 students and features a slab-on-grade, masonry load-bearing structure with brick veneer exterior walls. In addition to classrooms, collaborative workspaces, and administrative areas, the school includes a commercial-grade kitchen, cafeteria, and full-size gymnasium. As a tribute to the original campus, Thomas restored and permanently displayed the historic school cupola near the new main entrance—honoring the legacy of the original building while providing a modern learning environment for future generations.
