Thomas Construction Group completed an 18,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art municipal complex for the Town of Kiawah Island, delivering a cohesive civic campus designed to enhance daily operations and community engagement. The project includes a new Town Hall and a separate maintenance garage, both thoughtfully designed to support the town’s administrative, public service, and operational needs.
The Town Hall features council chambers designed for public meetings and court sessions, a grand main lobby, administrative offices, conference rooms, and a break room. The building’s exterior utilizes structurally insulated panels, clad in a combination of lap and vertical fiber-cement siding with battens, creating a durable and refined coastal aesthetic. Interior finishes balance function and design, incorporating resinous terrazzo, vinyl composition tile, carpet tile, porcelain tile, linear wood ceilings, acoustical ceiling panels, and hard ceilings to support both public and staff spaces.
The adjacent 3,760-square-foot maintenance garage complements the Town Hall architecturally, featuring matching exterior cladding over a metal building structure with overhead coiling doors. Interior finishes include sealed concrete flooring and painted concrete masonry partitions, providing a durable, low-maintenance environment to support public works operations. Together, the facilities form a modern municipal complex that reflects Kiawah Island’s commitment to quality, efficiency, and long-term community service.
