Thomas Construction Group provided Construction Manager at Risk services for the Town of Atlantic Beach’s two-story Municipal and Public Safety Complex. The 20,600-square-foot facility brings together the town’s administrative offices, police department, and fire/EMS services into one cohesive campus designed for efficiency, safety, and long-term resilience.
The project included demolition of the existing Police and Administrative wings, while maintaining full fire department operations throughout construction. Once the new facility was completed, the former fire station was safely demolished. Unique features of the complex include an exhaust extraction system for each fire truck bay, a second-floor Emergency Operations Center, and a distinctive sloped roof design that serves as a defining architectural element for the building and the community it serves.
For Atlantic Beach, this facility consolidates Town administration, police, fire/EMS, and emergency operations functions into one resilient municipal complex designed to support day-to-day services as well as response during emergencies and extreme weather events.
