Thomas provided CM@R preconstruction and construction to the Town of Atlantic Beach for a new two-story municipal and public safety building consisting of approx. 20,600 SF. The project includes a new facility that houses the town’s administrative staff, police and fire/EMS departments. The existing Police and Administrative wings were demoed, with the exception of the fire department which will remained fully operational during construction. It was torn down upon completion of the new facility built adjacently.
There are many unique features of the complex including an exhaust extraction system installed for each fire truck in the fire truck bays. The second floor of the Public Safety building houses an Emergency Operations Center, and the design of the roof slopes is also very unique and will be a distinguishing feature for this building.
