Located on approximately four acres in downtown Burgaw, the 19,000-square-foot Pender County Courthouse stands as a historic landmark for the community. Following extensive water damage from Hurricane Florence, the courthouse underwent significant restoration to return the building to full functionality while preserving its historic character.
Thomas Construction Group led the interior renovation phase, which included storm damage repairs, lead and asbestos abatement, ADA improvements, and the installation of new mechanical and electrical systems. Additional work encompassed plaster demolition and replacement, custom millwork, installation of a new elevator and shaft, new courtroom seating, and upgraded finishes throughout—revitalizing this important civic structure for generations to come.
