The Family Activity Center for Cape Fear Country Club in Wilmington, NC, consisted of partial demolition of the existing 3,700 SF pool and tennis facility and full demolition and replacement of the existing tennis storage building.
New construction consisted of a 21,950 SF, two-story brick and cedar shake siding activity center. The first floor features a display kitchen bar, interior casual dining room, and outside dining with walk-up window service. Also on the first floor is a full commercial kitchen, youth activity room, child care center, multi-purpose rooms, pool locker rooms, and a new tennis Pro Shop.
The open second floor plan features a state-of-the art fitness center with areas for spin, palates, and aerobics classes. There are additional lockers/showers, office, steam rooms, treatment and restrooms on this floor. The exterior 2nd floor patio balconies overlook the pool and tennis courts.
Exact coordination of site and existing pool-related elements were critical to maintain the integrity of the existing pool fencing and gates during construction and well as the pool grounding system. Continuous power to the tennis courts lighting system was also critical.
