Thomas Construction Group delivered Air Wilmington’s newest and largest state-of-the-art hangar at Wilmington International Airport in Wilmington, NC. Nearly twice the size of any previous hangar on site, the 35-foot-tall structure measures 140 feet deep and 150 feet wide, with a 138-foot-wide by 28-foot-tall front door opening to accommodate larger aircraft.
Built to meet a 130-mph wind load and anchored by more than 800 cubic yards of concrete, the facility is equipped with a sprinkler and foam system for safety. Its 11-inch-thick floor is designed to support loads of up to 100,000 pounds per tire, ensuring durability and performance for diverse aviation needs.
