Senior Living

Thomas Construction Group partnered with Pennybyrn at Maryfield, a premier senior living community in High Point, North Carolina, to deliver a transformative multi-phase expansion and renovation. The project enhances Pennybyrn’s legacy of providing exceptional care and vibrant living options for residents through modernized spaces and thoughtfully designed new facilities.

The expansion introduced a new 23,780-square-foot rehabilitation center offering 25 short-term stay units within an I-2 occupancy classification—designed to promote recovery and comfort in a state-of-the-art environment. In addition, a new 78,282-square-foot independent living building features both three- and four-story sections with 42 contemporary residential units and approximately 60 parking spaces, supporting an active, independent lifestyle.

Renovations encompassed 77,230 square feet of the existing Independent Living Facility, with a 4,600-square-foot addition providing refreshed and functional spaces. The 122,000-square-foot Healthcare Households Facility—serving assisted living and skilled nursing residents—was also fully renovated to elevate quality of care and overall resident experience.

Through this extensive redevelopment, Thomas Construction Group helped Pennybyrn at Maryfield continue its mission of delivering compassionate care in a modern, holistic environment that supports every stage of senior living.

Pennybyrn at Maryfield received the ABC 2025 Excellence in Construction Merit Award, celebrating the project’s craftsmanship, attention to detail, and commitment to enhancing senior living environments. The recognition highlights our team’s dedication to delivering spaces that support dignity, comfort, and quality of life for residents.
