Columbus County Courthouse Renovations

Public

Thomas Construction Group completed the comprehensive renovation of the 21,000-square-foot historic Columbus County Courthouse in Whiteville, NC. Originally built in 1915, the once-vacant landmark has been revitalized to meet modern needs while preserving its historic character.

Renovations included relocating the Clerk of Court’s office into the restored building, transforming the upper floor into a large, state-of-the-art courtroom, and completing extensive interior upgrades. The project reestablishes the courthouse as a functional centerpiece of county government—honoring its legacy while ensuring it continues to serve the community for generations to come.
