Thomas Construction Group is repurposing a former Verizon facility into a modern, multi-specialty medical office building for Novant Health in midtown Wilmington, NC. The renovation reconfigures existing space to accommodate clinical areas, imaging suites (CT and MRI), radiology, lab testing, pharmacy, and specialty care services. The third floor is being adapted for infusion therapy and a compounding pharmacy, expanding Novant Health’s ability to deliver advanced, patient-centered care.
To ensure precision and efficiency, LiDAR scanning was utilized to capture accurate existing conditions, enabling seamless system coordination. Interior demolition, building envelope testing, and targeted infrastructure upgrades address aging systems and ensure long-term building performance. The use of prefabricated MEP assemblies and phased construction sequencing allows for efficient installation while minimizing disruption to the surrounding campus, with select clinic areas scheduled for early occupancy ahead of full project completion.
