Thomas Construction Group delivered an 8,000 SF addition for General Electric – Aviation (now GE Aerospace) in Wilmington, NC, designed to house the world’s largest inertia friction welding machine. The expansion included conventional spread footings, structural steel and deck, metal girts and siding, EPDM roofing, and bridge cranes.
The new structure was seamlessly tied into the existing production area, with all connections completed deep within the plant without interrupting operations. In addition to the expansion, Thomas also completed an extensive renovation of the facility’s Café, enhancing daily amenities for employees.
