Thomas Construction Group, LLC (Thomas), of Wilmington, NC, was excited to be a 2023 STEP (Safety Training Evaluation Process) Diamond Award recipient at the ABC Carolinas Chapter 2023 Safety Summit last week in Concord, NC.
The Diamond Safety recognition is awarded to companies with a total recordable incident rate (TRIR) 50% below the NAICS code average, have less than a .9 Experience Modification Rate (EMR) (Thomas currently maintains a .79 EMR), and have no fatalities resulting in OSHA citations for the past 3 years. Additionally, there is a Key Component system where each firm must reach a minimum score.
Thomas was awarded the Platinum STEP Award for five years in a row. This year, receiving the Diamond Award (the highest-level award) exemplifies that safety is not only a priority but the top priority at Thomas. Every individual stepping onto our job sites is valued, and we take pride in seeing our efforts making a tangible difference and improving the quality of our work.
