New Safety Manager Hired

With safety at the forefront of every project, Wilmington-based Thomas Construction Group is delighted to announce the hiring of Billy Ries, Safety Manager.

Thomas has always valued safety and the company’s safety initiatives will continue to be led by our Corporate Safety Director, Carl Weatherington, but Billy’s addition to the team is already proving invaluable. Billy is a graduate of Keene State College where he received his degree in Occupational Safety & Health Sciences, prior to working for OSHA (the Occupational Safety and Health Administration). Most recently, Billy was a Project Safety Coordinator in Southern California, where he worked for a large power line company. Billy’s proficiency in conducting field safety audits & incident investigations is a great benefit to the Thomas organization and he will be fundamental in developing and executing up-to-date safety programs. Billy will support all of our project teams and work with our superintendents regularly.

Billy is happy that his new position at Thomas brings him back to the East Coast and closer to family. He was introduced to the company through a friend and project manager, and instantly felt this was the “fit” he had been looking for in a new role. Additionally, Billy said he is excited to be working in the General Contracting world and modernize some of Thomas’ safety protocols and “energize the safety department”. In his spare time, Billy enjoys being on the water or in the sun and is excited to begin learning more about saltwater fishing!

Thomas Construction Group is proud to welcome Billy to the team and is excited to be working towards an even stronger reputation for safety.
