
Acadia Healthcare, one of the largest behavioral healthcare providers in the country operating in 39 states, has selected Thomas Construction Group to serve as Construction Manager and General Contractor for Wilmington Treatment Center’s new Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) Center and two patient apartment dormitories.
Owned by Acadia, the Wilmington Treatment Center PHP will provide the most intensive level of non-residential, non-inpatient care for individuals who struggle with substance abuse and addition, mental health disorders, and/or behavioral health disorders. For the patients who currently live in halfway houses throughout the community, the new patient dormitory apartments will allow for residential treatment and recovery by providing a safe environment and stepping away from his or her everyday life to focus solely on healing. The main hospital program building and two-story housing, designed by Johnson Johnson Crabtree Architects of Nashville, TN, consists of 39,000 SF, 36,000 SF, and 27,000 SF respectively. Thomas also expanded the Wilmington Treatment Center located on Troy Drive with the addition of 48 new at the center’s substance abuse hospital facility will assist in the need for increased detox beds.
