The need for senior housing is at an all-time high and assisted living facilities are the fastest growing type of senior housing, in the nation. Calyx Living, a new, contemporary brand by Carillon Assisted Living, understands the needs of North Carolina’s seniors, more than most and has plans to address this need in the greater Raleigh area.
Thomas Construction Group, LLC (Thomas), of Wilmington, NC, has been selected and contracted to build Calyx Living’s newest assisted living community in Fuquay-Varina, just 20 minutes south of Raleigh. This will be the eleventh assisted living housing project that Thomas will have completed for Carillon. The architect for the project is HR Associates, P.A., also of Wilmington, N.C.
Thomas broke ground mid-January and construction will last the full span of a year. When complete, the 39,000SF, single-story building will have 84 total beds (48 assisted living and 36 memory care) with five different floor plans (three for assisted living residents and two for memory care residents). The facility will also have amenities such as: multiple dining rooms, an activity room & library, a living room, a gathering room, an exercise and wellness room, a kitchen, offices, screened porches, and a Bistro. The facility is due to open in the Spring of 2023.
