Thomas previously completed Spring Arbor Behavioral in Garner, NC. The 55,700-square-foot mental health I-2 hospital designed with patients’ needs at the forefront, delivering quality behavioral health care for individuals and families throughout North Carolina.
Recently, Thomas completed a renovation and conversion of an existing 31,457-gross-square-foot assisted living component on the same Garner campus, expanding and enhancing the center’s behavioral health capabilities. The existing wood-framed structure features load-bearing walls supporting pre-engineered metal plate–connected wood trusses, with a four-hour CMU firewall separating the front and rear sections of the building. The renovation delivered 50 patient units with a total of 76 beds, including 24 single-occupancy rooms and 26 double-occupancy rooms. Classified as Construction Type V-A, the exterior incorporates a combination of siding and brick veneer, maintaining continuity with the campus while supporting durability and patient-centered design.
