CARL E. WEATHERINGTON, JR.
Carl brings over 42 years of experience as a safety and health professional to your project. Having worked for several Fortune 500 companies as a safety and health director, Carl was responsible for the development of safety and health programs, workers compensation and environmental compliance. His education and training include business administration, instructor education, management techniques, and loss control. He has completed over 5000 hours of certified safety, health, fire and emergency medicine training over his health and safety career.
During his career, Carl has conducted thousands of safety audits and inspections in general industry and construction. He has served as OSHA compliance officer and has also served as a Safety Consultant for the North Carolina Department of Labor’s Consultative Services Bureau. In this position he was responsible for assisting small employers in development of safety and health programs and safety regulations compliance. Carl was instrumental in assisting several companies achieve the SHARP award from the Department of Labor, including Thomas Construction Group.
Carl’s professional affiliations have included Technical Adviser of New Hanover County’s Tactical Rescue Team; World Safety Organization Member; Safety, Health and Environmental Advisory Committee (GTMI); Safety and Health Advisory Committee Member (CRI); American Heart Association; Member of the Rescue Specialist Team (GEMA); President of Moore County Firefighter’s Association; Chairman of Moore County’s Hazardous Materials Risk Assessment Committee; and Member of the NC Fireman’s Association. Carl and his wife, Christine, reside in Wilmington.
