20 Stories for 20 Years: Expanding Access to Behavioral Healthcare For 20 years
Thomas Construction Group has been Always Building projects that matter—projects that serve people, families, and entire communities. Among the most meaningful of these are the behavioral health facilities we’ve helped bring to life across the Nation.
Meeting a Critical Need
Mental health touches every family, every workplace, and every community. Yet too often, access to safe, supportive care can be limited. That’s why Thomas is proud to partner with healthcare leaders to expand facilities that provide hope, dignity, and treatment for those facing mental health challenges. Over the past two decades, we’ve delivered projects ranging from community-focused centers to large-scale behavioral health hospitals—each designed to meet patients where they are and provide environments that promote healing.
More Than Buildings
During Mental Illness Awareness Week (October 5–11), we are reminded that healthcare facilities are far more than brick and mortar. They are lifelines. They are places where patients find stability, where families find support, and where communities find strength. One of our most recent examples, the ECU Health / Acadia Behavioral Health Hospital in Greenville, NC, represents a vital step forward in expanding access to care. With 144 beds serving children, adolescents, adults, and seniors, this hospital was designed with the future of behavioral healthcare in mind. But it is just one chapter in a larger story. From North Carolina to South Carolina to Texas and beyond, Thomas has delivered facilities that reflect both the urgency and the compassion required in this vital area of healthcare.
Here’s to 20 years of Always Building spaces that strengthen communities, and to the many years ahead as we continue to expand access to care for generations to come.
